Abby and Susie have done a lot of traveling and creating together over the years. They have been to Alaska, Arizona, around much of Colorado, and most recently to Florida and Louisiana. Their show, ‘Open Road’ has as much to do with art as it does with travel and friendship.
While in Florida, the artists made stops in Homosassa, Naples, Weeki Wachee to see the crystal river and seek out mermaids, Sanibel Island in search of birds, Panama City beach, and Apalachicola. Then it was on to Louisiana, weaving their way across the bayous, with a stop in New Orleans. Traveling north, they paused in Salida, Colorado and then made their way back to Steamboat Springs.
This trip was truly an adventure, no schedule, a roll by the seat of your pants kind of trip! The travel was a much needed break and a chance for both artists to become immersed in the beauty of different landscapes while focusing on art. Susie and Abby are always grateful for the opportunity to spend time together and create.
