Pete Wood
PETE uses realism with some impressionism to reflect the landscape and wildlife of Colorado. He works to maintain a balance between capturing the realism of his scenes with a creative interpretation using bold colors and light. Most of his work is in oil and watercolor. is a Colorado native born in Denver and raised in Arvada. He is an avid skier, hiker, and mountain biker. Pete has always loved sketching and painting and is inspired by his personal experiences for his subjects. His love of the outdoors is his inspiration for most of his artwork.
After graduating from high school, Pete served 23 years in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Aircrewman and Naval Flight Officer. After retiring from military service, he and his family returned to Colorado and made Steamboat Springs their home.
