Create a custom tie-dye with artist Tony Urbick! Tony will go start to finish with garment prep, color theory, tieing and dyeing techniques, and channeling your creativity with classic tie-dye methods like “Galaxy Scrunch”, “Kaleidoscope Spiral” and “Starburst”. Participants will go home with their creations wrapped and safe to transport, plus curing and rinsing instructions. Nitrile Gloves and aprons are provided but bring your “get messy” clothes and long dishwashing gloves if desired. PARTICIPANTS, PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN UPCYCLED OR BLANK GARMENTS, UP TO 3 PIECES.
Tie Dye originated in part with the ethos of making old things new again! Upcycle that favorite old 100% Cotton, Rayon, Linen, or Hemp garment! Whether old or just purchased, give it a good wash and dry beforehand in “free and clear” detergent to remove any store sizing, fabric softener or dirt/oil buildup.
